The One DHS Standards Project involves the streamlining of standards and accreditation reviews across the three DHS divisions: Housing, Children Youth and Families, and Disability Services.
The One DHS Standards were launched in June 2011 by Mary Wooldridge, Minister for Community Services. They will come into effect from July 1 2012 and will replace the HASS standards.
To accompany the standards, an Evidence Guide will be used to assist services to meet the requirements of the new standards. DHS and CHP have been consulting on the sector’s response to the draft Evidence Guide produced by the Australian Healthcare Associates (AHA).
CHP and DV Vic would like to thank the services who contributed to our submissions on the AHA draft Evidence Guide and who attended our consultations with the sector on May 25th and August 23rd. Key issues commented on included the need for a guide that also includes corporate & management standards, concern about issuing clients with copies of their assessments, and seeking clarification regarding exemption for services funded for less than $100k.
