The Victorian Government’s Homelessness Action Plan 2011-2015 was welcomed today by two of the peak bodies representing homelessness and housing in Victoria, the Council to Homeless Persons and Community Housing Federation Victoria.

Victorian Homelessness Action Plan 2011 to 2015
On Wednesday 5 October, the Baillieu Government announced the Victorian Homelessness Action Plan 2011 – 2015. This new Plan will provide greater assistance to homeless people and tackle the underlying causes of homelessness.

Victoria's State Budget 2011-12 Analysis

18-03-11 H2020 Sector Consultation Report
In September 2010 the Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) welcomed the release of A Better Place: Victorian Homelessness 2020 Strategy. CHP submitted a Sector Briefing to outline and provide an initial response on the Strategy.
The Sector Briefing was followed by six consultations with the homelessness sector across Victoria, from October to December 2010, to further develop CHP’s position.
It was clear from the consultations that there is wide support for the Strategy’s aims and new approach to reducing homelessness. However, the feedback suggests there is concern about how and what resources will be available to test and replicate these reforms across regional and metropolitan Victoria.
CHP is committed to using this feedback to advocate for the issues arising out of the consultations as they relate to implementation of the Strategy and in our work more generally to eliminate homelessness in Victoria.
This report includes information regarding the location and format of the consultations, areas of widespread agreement and a summary of the sector’s feedback on the Strategy.
