August 09: Youth Homelessness practice library online http://practice.chp.org.au
The Practice Library Website is a joint CHP - Office of Housing project providing a contact point for youth homelessness workers in Victoria.
The test site will run for three months August-October 2009.
Incorporating input from the youth homelessness sector, the website will provide:
1) information and resources on youth homelessness issues
2) youth homelessness workers (predominantly in SAAP) with networking and practice support opportunities.
On completion of the test phase, your feedback will be incorporated into a plan for an ongoing Practice Library Website.

Multiple and Shared Tenancies for Young People in Transitional Housing A brief information and analytical paper on issues related to multiple or shared tenancies for young people in transitional housing. The report was undertaken by CHP on behalf of the Department of Human Services for the Youth Homelessness Action Plan.
Making a Place to Belong: Homeless young people, support, accommodation and exclusion This report provides a critical analysis of both structural and practice issues that impact on young people's access to, and engagement with, accommodation and support services. The research is intended as a starting point for reflection, discussion and debate within the homelessness sector about practice frameworks and support and accommodation models for young people, especially those who require diverse and integrated forms of support.

Contextualising young people: Implications for young people experiencing homelessness This CHP Strategic Policy Background Paper broadly charts the changing nature of the environment in which young people are growing up, and considers the implications for young people experiencing homelessness. The paper considers four key areas, 'Who are young people?', 'Pathways and Transitions', 'Dependence, Independence and Interdependence' and 'Notions of Home'. This paper provides a contextualising background for the youth homelessness policy platform.
