  • March 2010 Have your say on the National Quality Framework for Homelessness Services
The Federal Government has released a discussion paper and scheduled a series of consultations as part of the legislative reform process that started in 2008 with The Road Home report. The latest discussion paper, A National Quality Framework to Support Quality Services for People Experiencing Homelessness, examines a framework to define and ensure consistent service quality across homelessness services. It is critical that we contribute to the development of this legislative and policy framework. CHP is in a unique position to contribute to this process based on our recent and ongoing experience with service quality and accreditation, and our strong consumer rights focus. The discussion paper, as well as a schedule for the consultations, can be downloaded from the FAHCSIA website by clicking on the link below. These dates may change so please keep an eye on the FAHCSIA website. We’ll provide a briefing for the sector in advance of the Victorian consultations and attending the consultations to hear and represent your views. If you’re unable to attend one of the consultations you can contribute your ideas by: * Emailing homelessness.quality@fahcsia.gov.au * Writing to: Ms Kate Gumley Chair, Homelessness Working Group Department of Families, Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs PO Box 7576 Canberra Business Centre ACT 2610 By 15 April 2010 to ensure they can be considered. We urge you, your organisation and your colleagues and clients to participate in this process and have your say.
